From September 22 to November 19, 2022, A. Galerie (Paris – FR) hosted Alessandro Vasapolli’s solo exhibition Dance Notes, presenting for the first time in France a broad selection of works from the series.
Structured in six thematic chapters – Grace, Dynamics, Strength, Movement, Impetus, and Time – the project explores the perceptual thresholds of photography through a radically experimental approach.

The exhibition brought together large-format images created entirely in-camera, without any digital post-production. Each photograph was the result of a meticulously constructed process involving custom optical systems, algorithmic interventions, and handcrafted scenic environments, transforming the photographic act into an autonomous space of inquiry.

Curated in close dialogue with the artist, the exhibition offered a focused insight into Vasapolli’s visual and conceptual research, highlighting the foundational tensions that shape his investigation into perception and the photographic medium.
